I just finished reading Daniel Dorr's book Kissing Kilimanjaro. My daughter and I climbed Kili four years ago and this book brought it all back. Great job in recording your climb. You've inspired me to put my thoughts into writing. Thanks.

Judy,
You totally made my day! Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with me and the other readers. I'm thrilled to hear you made it to the top after all that hard work, and with all that snow too. Congratulations!

Thank you,
Daniel

I read the book twice. Before attempting Kili ourselves, my partner and I read it and wondered if we were crazy or delusional to take on this challenge. (We'd both be celebrating our 59th birthdays on the Africa trip.) Your account drove us to train very thoroughly for the climb and outfit ourselves well. Thanks for that! After successfully completing the trek to Uhuru Peak, via the Marangu route, enjoying a safari and Zanzibar, then recovering from jet lag back at home, I read the book again. This time it was completely real! From staying at Springlands to trekking all the way back from the summit to Horombo, to taking too many pictures of baboons etc. I applaud your diligence in making the effort to record your adventures in such detail. (BTW the summit was covered with deep, new snow for our ascent, Feb. 17, 2011) We'll recommend the book to other crazies who want to climb Kili.
