Kilimanjaro has been an inspiration for thousands of ordinary people looking to do something extraordinary.   We've seen teens, family, friends, clubs, couples and more touch the highest point on the African continent as a way to raise awareness and funds for water, malaria, cancer, AIDS and a host of other issues.   But this latest one is even more amazing.  Now a group of rock stars are planning to host a concert on Uhuru peak at 19,341 feet above sea level!  Yes, a concert on top of Kilimanjaro. The group, called the Love Hope Strength Foundation, is "to providing support for cancer centers, and inspiration to those affected, throughout the world. The mission is to save lives, right now, with the advances that have already been made in cancer care."  They won't fund cancer research, but will use acquired funds and media attention to purchase medical equipment and supplies, build cancer centers and find bone marrow donors. We've seen a lot of cancer survivors, their friends and family member use Kilimanjaro as inspiration and fund raising.  But this take Uhuru peak to a whole new level.  You can follow their progress over the next 5 months.  We with them all the best and encourage you to support their efforts.
